Guitar Tuition for Beginners

From Monday 2nd September 2019, join tutor Ben Helm and a maximum of 9 other students, learning to play guitar. The course runs for an initial 8 consecutive weeks and from 8pm-9pm.  

A follow-on course of 8 weeks duration is planned, beginning Monday 4th November 2019, should sufficient demand exist. 

Sign up now to avoid disappointment. A maximum number 10 places exist.

Price per 8 week block: £80 payable in advance, so only £10 a session - thats alright, eh?(Sorry, but no refunds are available except in exceptional circumstances.)

FAQ : Who is this Ben bloke? 

Ben has been playing the guitar for approximately 22 years and teaching for 9 years. He is an RGT registered tutor and has an 100% pass rate for all his students who have undertaken instrumental grades.

FAQ: Will be able to play guitar win me friends, improve my social life and increase my self esteem to God, level 2? 

Yes, or maybe no. 

FAQ: Will you supply the guitars? 

No, on your bike! Bring your own, please. Or one you’ve stolen from a friend, or elderly relative. 

FAQ: What will I be able to do, after 8 weeks? 

By the end of the 8 weeks, a complete beginner will have a pool of at least 4 - 10 chords to be able to play a few different chord charts/pieces of music.

FAQ: If Ben is so good, why is he not in Bros, or Ultravox? 

Ben has a varied background in live performance, studio recording and directing ensembles. He has performed and recorded with a pop trio, Tessera Skies. The band's most notable achievements include working with Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), performing at the BBC 6Music Festival and headlining the Sage Gateshead in the North East. The band have featured in many local and national publications such as Q and CLASH and have received airplay on Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, 6Music, BBC Newcastle, and Amazing Radio.

FAQ: Can I see what Ben is capable of? I mean, with a guitar.
