About the Event
Spontaneous Wrecks was formed from a group of like-minded Newcastle-based improvisers in early 2014. They soon began performing shows in Newcastle in the style of ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ and became a fixture in the Newcastle improv comedy scene.
They made their debut at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2016 and performed at the following four Fringes. They were also part of the first ever Newcastle Improv Festival in summer 2019.
After taking a break from performing in person due to world events in 2020 and 2021, Spontaneous Wrecks are very excited to be back and performing at Bobiks!
The current line-up of players includes veterans of the North East improv, stand-up, theatre and cabaret scenes. Each show features a group of players from the below list – and you never know if a few special guests might turn up for a little spontaneous fun.
Spontaneous Wrecks members
Spontaneous Wrecks are excited to be bringing their classic Edinburgh Fringe-style improv format to Bobiks in their return to live performing.
A series of well-known improv games and scene styles, each build on each other as the show goes on and use a different kind of audience suggestion each time, usually culminating in a big story containing multiple elements.
Show 8pm-10pm with a mid show interval of approx 15 minutes.
