45 Movie Club : Liberation Day (U) 100 minutes - FREE ENTRY
Time & Location
About the Event
Under the loving but firm guidance of an old fan turned director and cultural diplomat, and to the surprise of a whole world, the ex-Yugoslavian cult band Laibach becomes the first rock group ever to perform in the fortress state of North Korea.
Confronting strict ideology and cultural differences, the band struggles to get their songs through the needle’s eye of censorship before they can be unleashed on an audience never before exposed to alternative rock’n’roll.
Meanwhile, propaganda loudspeakers are being set up at the border between the two Koreas and a countdown to war is announced.
The hills are alive…with the sound of music.
45 Movie Club is the name we've given a series of music related fim screenings at Bobiks, free to attend.
Donations are welcomed and all proceeds will go towards funding a vinyl single release by a locally based band or artist on a new Bobiks record label.
HOW TO GET YOUR SEAT
Capacity will be limited. Up to an hour before screening, come in, grab a seat reservation card from one of the seats and this is your guarantee of a place for the movie. So long as you have your seat reservation card, you can head downstairs to the main pub for food or drink, safe in the knowledge you'll be able to enjoy the film.
