Jump into an improvised comedy adventure with Ben as he raids the library of his fantastical imagination to create thrillers, romances, ghost stories and more original freewheeling tales that have never been told before and never will be again.
Continuing in the joyous tradition of fellow Geordie Ross Noble, this year Ben takes his crowd work to a whole new level, as he improvises a brand-new story each night. Using audience members as characters he creates a fable that often looks and sounds like a lost Goon Show made flesh. With nothing to rely on but his wits and the punters in front of him, this is edge of your seat comedy without a safety net. Previous stories that have appeared out of nowhere to entertain the audience include: The Lost Treasure of Bigfoot, The Fable of the Three Covens & Sam the Godslayer and The Betrayal of the Billionaire Fact-checker.
Ben is one of the most respected and trusted MCs on the circuit, working for the likes of The Comedy Store, The Stand, Komedia, The Backyard, The Glee, Top Secret Comedy and many more, as well as hosting stages for Bestival, Festival No.6, End of the Road and Sunday Papers Live. He is also currently helmsman of the Chortle Award-winning Good Ship Comedy Club in Camden Town.
Away from the Edinburgh he has taken commissions to perform a voodoo re-marriage ceremony, founded the Church of the Holy Kazoo with comedy legend Mark Thomas, hosted a comedy tour of the FIFA Museum in Zurich, walked the entire London Underground network to raise money for The Refugee Council and even took part in experiments at The Royal Society that revealed him to have the most infectious laugh of any human, rat or monkey. He is also the co-host of the popular podcast Worst Foot Forward, a show mixing the best bits of QI and Room 101 to reveal engaging trivia about the heroic failures of history.
